In view of the current concerns and travel restrictions internationally as a result of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all participants, the decision was taken to postpone all physical 2020 Managed Services Summit events until 2021.
Following on from the successful launch of the Managed Services Summit Live virtual summit in June 2020, Managed Services Summit Live II, took place on 28-29 October 2020 to bring the industry together virtually and on-line to help deal with the unprecedented challenges we all currently face.
The 2nd virtual summit enabled live chat between delegates, speakers and sponsors and took the form of two 3-hour interactive sessions over 2 days.
The event will take the form of two 3-hour interactive sessions over 2 days.
Each session focused on a key issue MSPs currently face and was based around a keynote presentation from an independent authority along with further 10-minute interactive presentations and interviews with industry experts. They also featured dynamic panel discussions responding to issues raised by the audience.
Key elements of the online summit included:
The running of a successful MSP in 2020/2021 will require more direction and insights than previously. The various parts of the business may all be moving at different paces – a focus on efficiency will need to target specific roles and aspects of the business. Competition for customers and resources will be increased and the vertical markets being served will have new demands.
This online event aims to bring MSPs up-to-date with the markets, platforms, additional services and approaches, based on the real experience of those MSPs who are proving successful. We aim to use the genuine voice of the MSP to highlight changes as they take place, explore proven best practice and tools, and ideas for marketing and sales that support the new and changed models.
Measuring the MSP- a study of key measurables in the business – size and investment, support/sales/marketing ratios; speed of growth and addition of new technologies/brands and sectors. How fast is the move to SaaS and managed services in the various vertical markets? An analyst looks in detail at public sector, financial services, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and other key markets to review the pace and direction of the changed model. MSPS in those verticals relate how their business have changed.
Marketing: How sales and marketing have been integrated in successful MSPs – a marketing expert talks about messaging and customer engagement, measuring and building that pipeline, exploring new markets safely and looking at how to test where marketing is effective. MSPs talk about their successful campaigns and changed thinking in the customer base.
Sales management: Coping with distance selling, establishing a differential in a competitive market, using wider resources to open doors and maintain key customer relationships at all levels within the customer. Top MSPs talk about their sales culture.
How the best MSPs are using other resources, from vendors, distribution and other service providers to hone their offering. Where does responsibility fall and how is customer engagement enhanced with a multi-headed approach? We talk to successful ecosystem partners, including security and marketing partners and distribution about how it works in practice.
New technologies: Analyst reports on areas that customers may be asking about – enhanced security and compliance, IoT, analytics, mobile management, platforms, additional SaaS applications, working across borders, 24x7 management, machine learning and AI.
New ways of working: The changed working practices in the new normal and monetisation of new services. How MSPs run themselves remotely, how they remotely manage work-from-home technology, onboarding and off-boarding customers safely, building the relationship remotely. MSPs talk about how they have changed and how they plan for evolve in future.
